I've actually used Pingoat. The only problem with it, that I can see, is that you can't ping it...

Also, it has you pinging sites that you should submit your feed to first, like blogdigger and syndic8.

And that subject is worth an article all its own.

However, it is a great service if for some reason the blogging platform you're using doesn't allow you to ping. Otherwise it's an added step.</description>
