Directory of Blog Directories
Though a lot of us folks who make our living online spend a lot of time talking about on-page SEO, off-page criteria are equally important. Maybe even more important.
The crazy thing is, off-page SEO is a lot easier than re-engineering your whole site. You see, inpointing links are the name of the game. And your first few inpointing links are awfully easy.
Get a head start on solid inpointing links by registering your blog in related blog directories. The Open Directory Project is where we all want to be listed, of course, but that doesn’t happen for most of us. And though we might submit our blogs to the Yahoo directory, our chances of getting listed are next to nil without plunking down a couple hundred bucks.
So… here are some free blog directories to get you started. If you have your own favorites, please list them in the comments:
Now I realize you SEO folks know that the PR of your inpointing links is important. But let’s just say you’re just starting your first blog and have no PR yourself. I’d say any related link is a good link.

Beware of FREE directories! They can result in a TON OF SPAM and other issues.
That is why I built http://www.thebestblogs.org for serious bloggers.
It is all SEO optimized, but there is no hidden costs.
